Privacy Policy
Last updated: 29 October 2026
Police Catch Thief ("the game", "we") is a free party game. We collect as little as possible. This policy explains what we store and why.
What we collect
- Nickname you type to join a room.
- An anonymous device ID created automatically so your phone keeps its seat. It is not linked to your name, email or phone number.
- Game data: room codes, cards dealt, guesses, scores, shout-outs and chat messages.
- Basic technical data (such as connection times) needed to keep rooms running.
We do not ask for your email, phone number, location, contacts or payment details.
How we use it
Only to run the game: seat you in a room, deal cards, keep score, show chat, and stop cheating or abuse (for example, keeping kicked devices out).
Sharing
We do not sell your data. Your nickname, scores and chat are visible to other players in your room. Secret cards are only shown to the person holding them until the round ends. Data is stored with our hosting provider, which processes it on our behalf. When you use the Share or WhatsApp button, the app you share to has its own privacy policy.
How long we keep it
Rooms and their data are deleted automatically after about 6 hours without activity.
Children
The game is not directed at children under 13. Do not enter personal information such as your real full name in your nickname or chat.
Your choices
You can leave a room at any time. Clearing your browser data removes your device ID. Under applicable laws, including the Nigeria Data Protection Act 2023, you may ask us to access or delete your data.
Changes
We may update this policy. The date at the top shows the latest version.
